Hey guys its Daniel from movement 101, today I’m going to show you a few modifications for lunges and for step ups. So, to make a lunge or hip dominant and if you’re experiencing a little bit of discomfort in your knees, to change your lunge, just sit your hips back and then keep leaning forward like this. Not allowing your knee to travel too far forward. Placing most of the weight on the front heel. If you want to load the knee and the quad a bit more, then do the opposite by staying upright and allowing the knee to travel forward. This places more load on the muscles and the knee joint. You can also do this with step ups with or without weight. So, with stair climbing also lean forwards and have the hips back. If you’re experiencing a little bit of sensitivity in the knee or to load the quad more, step up in a more upright position allowing that knee to travel all the way forward.
