The inner-west is so blessed with lovely parks with exciting playgrounds. If you are on the hunt for a new park in inner-west, the Marrickville Park is a huge old park in the middle of Marrickville with something for everyone. The park is located at the corner of Livingstone and Sydenham Roads.
The park recently got a major upgrade but still serves as the local hangout. The Marrickville Park got in-ground trampolines, a bike-riding path, a kid cubby house, a climbing structure and slide, BBQs, and an outdoor gym. Also, the park now has a beautiful fence and sparkling clean toilets, including the parents’ room and accessible toilets. What Makes Marrickville Park Unique While the Marrickville Park is small, it packs some of the most amazing features such as the trampolines you or/and your kids can bounce along from one to the other, a see-saw, swings, a kid cubby house, and a merry-go-round. Surrounding Marrickville Park is also a level footpath perfect for bikes and scooters, a fitness station, and an off-leash dog area that is too good to resist. Another thing you will probably like about Marrickville Park is how close the BBQ spot is to end of the park of the kid’s playground, which means you can get yourself a sausage while watching your kids play. This feature is often lacking in other parks. The park has a real community feel and is equipped for all ages. Families seem to socialize more than other parks because you can see adults also having fun rather than sitting alone with their phones. There is also plenty of shade for a picnic, and the open space is also perfect for a game of cricket and soccer. Marrickville Park Outdoor Gym is also located in Marrickville Park. This gym has exercise and calisthenics in a hub designed for cardio, strength, and mobility training. Where to Eat at Marrickville Park The nearest coffee shop to Marrickville Park is the Bespoke and Grind. This is a big plus to the people that go to the park to have fun. The Bespoke and Grind is a bicycle-themed café with very good coffee and products for adults and kids. Moreover, there are loads of healthy foods for every appetite. Do you want to have your mind blown? Try the Pork Belly Burger. Recent Upgrade of Marrickville Park The Inner West Council recently upgraded Marrickville Park and it looks amazing. The south entrance leads to the latest exercise area with park equipment. The park now has the same quality of apparatus as other parts of the old Marrickville borough. The park ground surface is made of a material that is bouncy and super soft. Other works completed on the park include new sports oval picket fencing and an upgrade to the tennis club building. Some of the other notable renovations include the new sports amenities building, multi-use courts, and the completion of the Marrickville Park Sporting Walk of Honour and loop pathway.

Located on the former site of the Marrickville Cottage Hospital, the new Marrickville Library and Pavilion is an important part of the district's history. The problem with heading to the library as cool as the Marrickville Library and Pavilion is that it is hard to get any work done with so much to admire.
Integrating heritage elements of the structure with contemporary design, the Marrickville Library and Pavilion's latest addition is a feat of sustainable and clever design. With over three-stories, you will find everything you need. The facility even has a brand-new pavilion which is available to hire for functions and events. History of Marrickville Library The building was initially used as a hospital. The Marrickville Cottage Hospital was founded in 1897 and was built in response to the high number of injuries sustained from the industrial sites and local factories. When the hospital was closed in 1991, it was used by a number of community groups before the local authority formed a partnership with Mirvac (builders) to build Marrickville Library as part of the development of the site. The library was built on a former hospital site, and the builders were able to reuse about 27,000 bricks from the old structure in the new building. Marrickville Library now boasts of over 1,000 metres of items, which include DVDs, movies, robots for amateur mechatronic engineers, and meeting rooms. With a massive increase in the shelving space of the library, over 20,000 new books were added to the collection, taking it to about 85,000 books. The whole second floor of the library is devoted to the historic art book collection that until now was quite difficult to get access to by the general public. The Marrickville Library is a well thought out beautiful library that provides great spaces for diverse people to learn, interact, and spend a shared community vibe together. The Marrickville Pavilion There is a great area connected to the Marrickville Library known as the Pavilion, where organizations and local residents can hire for presentations and events. The Marrickville Pavilion is ideal for cocktail parties, conferences, beautiful weddings, and private dinners. The pavilion is also the perfect backdrop for your bespoke event. The Marrickville Pavilion includes two separate break-out spaces and access to a fantastic outdoor area that will greatly complement your next event. In addition, the Marrickville Library has a full-size catering kitchen, integrated audiovisual facilities, onsite parking, acoustic ceiling with rigging points, hearing loop, wheelchair accessible, and more. Children’s Library One of the most popular areas of the Marrickville Library and Pavilion is the children's library. The padded shelf with books makes it easier for kids to get cosy. They also get to enjoy the outdoor courtyard to take in some fresh air. You’ll be sprawl out of the large garden space while your children enjoy the children's playground and library. The courtyard garden features the Kangaroo sculpture designed by Joanna Rhodes. The Kangaroo sculpture served as a reminder of the site's history when the entire area was known as the Kangaroo Grounds.

Located in Marrickville, Henson Park is a multipurpose sporting centre that was created on the site of former brickworks. And the park is an attractive and historically important feature of the site. Henson Park is home to the Newtown Rugby League Football Club, also known as “The Newtown Jets.” Occasionally, Henson Park also hosts AFL matches. The park is also well-suited for families and never gets seriously crowded, making it a great picnic spot.
History of Henson Park Henson Park was opened in 1937; before then, it was the site of a brick pit. The closure of the brick pit left a huge water hole which became a serious danger. The Marrickville Council bought the site in 1923, did a minor renovation, and used it as relief work for several people during The Great Depression. Henson Park was officially opened in 1933. In 1938, it became the principal cycling venue for the British Empire Games, the forerunner to today’s Commonwealth Games. During the British Empire Games, the gatherings repeatedly exceeded 40,000. During the late 1970s, the velodrome surrounding the playing ground was removed and replaced with grass running track and used for local school games festivals. The multipurpose sporting centre looks quite the same as it has since opening and has been home to the Newtown Jets. The Newtown Rugby League Football Club played in the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL), a forerunner to the National Rugby League (NRL) until 1983, until the team stopped going to the competition due to financial reasons. Today, Henson Park is still the home ground of the Newtown Jets, who participate in the New South Wales Rugby League during the winter season. And during the summer, Henson Park serves as the home ground to Canterbury-Marrickville Olympic Soccer Club that participates in the NSW state Supper league. Notable Spots Surrounding the Henson Park The King George V Memorial Grandstand is on the western side of the park – this has about 1000 seating capacity. Also, from the north-west to the south-east side of Henson Park, you will see a massive grass hill, which is one of the biggest hills in Sydney. A bitumen bank where you can park your car is also located in the south-east to the western part of the ground. Recent Upgrade of Henson Park In 2019, the Shorten Labor Government invested about $5 million to renovate the park, transforming it into a sporting centre that would also host major Australian Football League matches. Moreover, with the aim to increase female participation in sport, the Henson Park upgrade includes the building of the female change rooms, making the park fit to host Greater Western Sydney women’s AFLW team and the Cronulla Sharks National Rugby League women’s team. The Henson Park renovation will also allow it to be used to host ALF matches and junior rugby league. In addition, it will be used as a coaching clinic facility for teams across Sydney’s Inner West. The upgrade to the Henson Park is an all-round winner for women's participation in sport, major football codes, and the Inner West community.

All You Need to Know Before Visiting The Enmore Theatre
Located on the historic King Street, Enmore Theatre is undeniably one of Sydney's most beautiful theatres. The theatre is the longest running live theatre in Sydney. The theatre plays host to live music performances, film festivals, comedy shows, and so much more. It is a popular destination for both the locals and visitors that want to rock the night away as many of the work biggest comedians and indie acts to book in here when they are on tour.
One of the most distinct aspects of the Enmore Theatre is its unique art deco, which has earned it a place on the Historic Buildings Register. And this has made the theatre a great social significance for the Enmore community. While the prestige and size of the Enmore Theatre are strong enough to attract big acts, the performance space remains intimate and cozy. The combination of an immense front-of-house system and the theatre’s traditional acoustics also results in exceptional sound, which makes the theatre one of Sydney's premier live venues. Enmore Theatre has its own bar, and the surrounding streets offer a great-value pub a-plenty and eateries to fuel up in before or after a show. On the scale of things, the Enmore Theatre is a medium-sized venue, with a capacity of up to 2500 guests and 1630 seated. History of Enmore Theatre Enmore Theatre was built in 1908 and opened to the public in 1912 as a photoplay theatre. The theatre was later bought by the Szarka Brothers and underwent a major renovation, which included private boxes as well as comfortable seating and an open view of the screen and the stage. In 1936, the theatre was sold to Hoyts, who made more restorations. During the 30s and 40s, the Newtown area was cluttered with at least eight theatres, but during the 60s, there was a decline in attendances, which caused a lot of the theatres to close. In 1967, the theatre was sold to the Louis Film Company who used it to screen films. And during the 90s, the theatre also undergoes more restorations and renovations to become less of a cinema and more of a theatre catering for live performances such as music concerts, drama, and comedy acts. Over the years, major names have performed at Enmore Theatre, which include The Rolling Stones, KISS, Coldplay, and Kylie Minogue. Enmore Theatre Events in 2021 2021 might be a great year for local artists, due to the restricted travel around the world. Enmore Theatre is reopening with a surprise new facelift and the theatre relaunch promises a fresh experience for everyone. The owners decided to use the lockdown period to bring forward a planned refurbishment of the theatre. The theatre is poised to host some huge local acts, and you should also be on the look-out for a host of international artists when they have the chance to come to Australia. Enmore Theatre is a mainstay for both local and international performers and will be a significant part of the return to unrestricted nightlife and full capacity concerts. Physiotherapy, also known as physical therapy, is essential to many individuals with certain physical ailments. Back injury, leg pain, or limited use of hands are just some of the many issues that physiotherapy helps to resolve. Our physiotherapy clinic in Marrickville understands the unique needs of each patient. As such, we endeavor to customize each physiotherapy program to suit the specific physical conditions that need to be resolved. Physiotherapy is not just limited to those with injuries resulting from trauma or surgeries. Many athletes work closely with experienced physiotherapists to improve their performances and keep in peak physical conditions. During the initial consultations with our certified physiotherapists, all the relevant information will be taken into account. This will have a bearing on the duration of physiotherapy. While a definitive answer to the question “how long does physiotherapy take?” is hard to pin down, our professionals can give a ballpark figure regarding the number of weeks or months a treatment plan is likely to take. Keep the following factors in mind when considering the duration of a physiotherapy treatment plan: Extent Of InjuryPhysiotherapy encompasses several treatment options for a variety of conditions. At its core, physical therapy aims to address injuries to soft tissues, minor injuries, or more complex cases involving surgery or severe accidents. A typical physiotherapy treatment plan for a minor injury could require about 3 visits. Sometimes, patients can come in with physical problems that may seem minor. Several physiotherapy sessions could expose the full extent of the injury, thereby requiring further sessions. For a general timeline, soft tissue injuries may take up to 8 weeks before recovery. This means that a patient exhibiting such injuries can expect to have about 2 weekly physiotherapy sessions for up to 2 months before any reasonable recovery is registered. Of course, we endeavor to remind the patient that this recovery period is dependent on several other factors. Certain limbs, like the leg or ankle, may require prolonged periods of immobility immediately after a physiotherapy session. A patient that fails to adhere to the physiotherapist’s instruction may undo the progress made during each session if they put undue physical stress on such a limb. Such occurrences can severely hamper the overall recovery process, thereby prolonging the full recovery period. It is crucial to remember that the duration of recovery does not correlate with the number of physiotherapy sessions needed. Through monitoring a patient’s progress, our physiotherapists can make necessary adjustments to the scope and number of sessions required. Expertise And Facilities Of The Physiotherapy ClinicMovement 101 has a dedicated team of certified professionals capable of handling all aspects of physiotherapy. We understand that a treatment plan can go wrong because of complications that arise along the way. This fact underscores the need for experience and top-quality expertise. Our professionals are always on the lookout for signs of any drawbacks during the sessions. Physiotherapy relies on other disciplines like clinical medicine and exercises science. These fields provide the necessary expertise that complements physiotherapy practices. Advances in technology also play a crucial role in directing physiotherapy techniques. Our clinic has all the necessary equipment to facilitate further investigations of complicated cases should the need arise. The expertise of the physiotherapists and the availability of modern equipment at a facility significantly help to lessen the period of treatment by comparison. Commitment To The Recovery ProgramBeing a primary care type of treatment, physiotherapy helps to identify initial problems before they worsen. A simple fall, for example, could have caused serious injuries that may require further examinations to determine the full extent of the damage. However, the role of the patient in the recovery is often not emphasized enough. Physiotherapy treatment should be a two-way street. At our clinic, we emphasize taking the initiative. This means that our patient cannot just take a backseat during the physiotherapy sessions. A full commitment to the program and a strong desire to recover are critical to helping the healing process along. Positive habits outside our treatment room are just as important to the recovery process. Eating an unhealthy diet and not getting enough sleep, for example, undermine all the hard work that goes into achieving a speedy recovery. Our physiotherapists understand that certain professions are very stressful. This means that patients that practice such professions may be susceptible to destructive habits. Smoking, for example, is a known habit among day traders that work in high-stress environments. Assuming such people were to become patients that need physiotherapy, our physiotherapists can strongly caution them on the negative effects of smoking with regard to achieving optimal physiotherapy results. Towards the end of your treatment program, feedback becomes critical. A physiotherapist, having observed you closely throughout the process, will want to know if any significant progress has been achieved. This is easy to gauge with a patient that lost the complete use of a limb. For example, a simple exercise to gauge range of motion and muscle strength can quickly confirm progress. However, some forms of progress can be hard to measure. A patient exhibiting back pain, for example, may feel that such pain has significantly subsided. The damaged back muscle may, however, still be injured and not sufficiently recovered. Like any reputable healthcare facility, our clinic believes in a patient-centric approach to physiotherapy. During every step of the treatment program, our physiotherapists always keep the patient’s needs at the front of their minds. In the rare event that a patient requires drugs while undergoing physiotherapy, our professionals have the experience to the right doctors that can deal with this pressing issue. All in all, you will have a rough idea of when your physiotherapy sessions should be discontinued. Together with our professionals, you can consider the progress made based on the results and the pain (or lack thereof) that you experience. At our clinics, we believe that any physical discomfort should be tackled immediately and effectively. Physiotherapy can act as the springboard for achieving greater physical fitness and health. Even while recovering from injury or surgery, it can still ease the path to a quick recovery. While physiotherapy is a broad term, it has some main branches. These include: Sports PhysiotherapyThis is what usually comes to mind when the term “physiotherapy” is mentioned. Most people ignorantly assume that only athletes require physiotherapy. These misconceptions are, however, not baseless as sports physiotherapy constitutes a significant number of cases of those that require the help of a physiotherapist. Sports and exercise physiotherapy entails the prevention and treatment of ailments and injuries sustained due to playing a sport or participation in athletics of any kind. While there is significant emphasis on enabling healing and quick recovery, sports and exercise physiotherapy can also assist physically uninjured individuals to augment their athletic performances and stamina. With advances and discoveries in sports medicine and other related fields, sports physiotherapy continues to develop and adopt new and improved ways of injury treatment. At Movement 101, we strive to keep up with the latest technologies and techniques in this field. Non-athletes involved in sports for recreational purposes can also enjoy the benefits of exercise physiotherapy. A typical sports physiotherapy session involves the diagnosis of pain, loss of function, and immobility. A physiotherapist can then institute a series of exercises designed to restore function and mobility. The nature and scope of what exercise physiotherapists do mean that they routinely consult and work closely with other professionals, including doctors and psychologists. For professional athletes, physical injury can have a devastating psychological effect. As such, such injured individuals may require professional counselling to complement the physical recovery programs. Our treatment includes exercise regimens to enable progress, even if such progress seems minimal at the start. Musculoskeletal PhysiotherapyThis branch of physiotherapy is often confused with sports physiotherapy. While they may overlap in some treatment options and techniques, they have some distinct characteristics. Musculoskeletal physiotherapy (also known as orthopaedic physiotherapy) focuses on re-establishing normal functioning of the musculoskeletal elements like ligaments, tendons, bones, among others. Unlike sports physiotherapy which focuses more on exercise-related injuries, orthopaedic physiotherapy also deals with disease conditions and injuries unrelated to sports. Muscular dystrophy, for example, is the progressive weakening and loss of muscles. This condition is brought about by a set of genetic disorders unrelated to sports injuries. Sufferers will gradually require the use of a wheelchair due to significantly reduced muscle strength. Orthopaedic physiotherapy helps to address this condition by instituting exercises designed to restore muscular strength. Patients may not recover complete physical strength but can experience significant improvements. Arthritis is another condition unrelated to sports that may require musculoskeletal physiotherapy. With physical recovery being the primary objective, a physiotherapist also helps build a coping mechanism as a secondary objective. These techniques can be crucial during this critical stage of recovery. Rehabilitation and Pain ManagementA wide range of conditions and ailments can cause chronic pain. Patients exhibit debilitating discomfort that does not seem to abate. Osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, and neuropathic pain are some of the causes of such pain. Physical manipulation of the affected body part and manual therapy are common in such treatment regimes. More traditional “old school” methods also included electrophysical therapies like Microcurrent stimulation. It was thought that this type of physiotherapy could help to lessen physical pain by inducing the release of serotonin and dopamine. These chemicals are natural painkillers in the body. Microcurrent stimulation may discharge alpha waves into the brain to enable the release of these natural painkillers. Major surgery can result in severe pain. While drug therapies can usually do the trick, physiotherapy can also be useful for alleviating pain. Muscle weakness, a limited range of motion, and postural problems are some of the many issues patients may have to deal with after a surgical procedure. Exercise, manual therapy and cognitive functional therapy are some of the several ways in which a physiotherapist can help patients deal with chronic pain after surgery. Pain hypersensitivity can sometimes result in individuals after surgery. Relaxation therapies and a gradual introduction to certain sensory stimuli can help remedy this problem. Our physiotherapists can help create a pain management program tailored toward your specific physical needs. Vestibular RehabilitationRestoration of body balance is the main objective of this type of physiotherapy. Traumatic brain injury (TBI) and calcium deposits in the semicircular canal can cause body balance and eye movement issues. Genetic factors or other environmental conditions can also cause body balance issues. Physiotherapy aims to address such balance and eye coordination issues. Gaze stabilization is one such physiotherapy regimen. It involves gazing at a fixed object and moving your head. All this happens with your gaze fixed on the target. Varying the speed and intensity of head movements as directed by the physiotherapist can help to improve eye movements. Balance retraining and other positional body treatment options endeavor to remedy postural and balance issues. Conditions like Benign Positional Paroxysmal Vertigo (BPPV) can cause dizziness and affect normal positional maneuvers. Habituation exercises are also a crucial part of vestibular rehabilitation physiotherapy. These exercises can help combat dizziness by carefully introducing sufferers to the stimuli that induce such dizziness. The object is to retrain the brains of such individuals to acclimate to these seemingly harmful stimuli. Neurological PhysiotherapyEvery year millions of people fall victim to neurological disorders like Alzheimer’s disease, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, and spinal cord injuries. All such individuals need physiotherapy to mitigate some of the debilitating effects of these conditions. A series of therapeutic sessions can help strengthen weak muscles. Victims of spinal cord injury resulting from accidents can equally benefit from such therapies by regaining some range of motion to the affected limbs. In reality, physiotherapy can benefit all of us regardless of our injuries or physical difficulties caused by disease. We should take our physical health seriously by ensuring exercises that can help keep our musculature in good condition. To learn more, visit https://www.movement101.com.au/
Find us on Social Media https://twitter.com/mvmt_101 https://www.linkedin.com/company/wolli-creek-physiotherapy-&-pilates/ https://www.instagram.com/movement101.physio/www.instagram.com/movement101.physio/ Many healthcare centres and establishments offer a variety of health services, including physiotherapy. People tend to trust facilities that come recommended to them by those they know. Our physiotherapy clinic in Botany has become a household name. There, we take a holistic approach to helping our patients and clients achieve the best physical shape that their bodies can permit. While achieving peak body shape may not be the ultimate goal for all individuals, we aim to help facilitate small improvements like an increased range of motion, reduced chronic pain, and general improvement in limb use after a traumatic accident. While it may seem like a no-brainer, choosing the right physiotherapy clinic for your needs is not as effortless as it may seem. Consider these factors before deciding to schedule any sessions with a physiotherapy facility: Certification Of The Physiotherapists And FacilityMany people take it for granted that healthcare professionals, including physiotherapists, are licensed. While practising a profession under false pretences is rare, there have been cases of people misleading potential clients. Ensure to check that whichever clinic you choose for your recovery program has all the required licenses and permits. All its physiotherapists should be qualified professionals with a license to provide physiotherapy services in that particular jurisdiction. The seemingly easy and trivial techniques of stretching limbs and massages performed during physiotherapy sessions can be misleading. Many people assume that just about anyone with a passing knowledge of such techniques is competent enough to offer physiotherapy services. Others can take this misconception a step further and set up a physiotherapy practice while misrepresenting their credentials. Needless to say, a methodical physical examination needs to be carried out before you begin any kind of physiotherapy. At Movement 101, our certified physiotherapists know how to handle each patient based on their unique physical needs and medical history. An often neglected part of any treatment option, including physiotherapy, is demeanour and interpersonal skills. Professional training notwithstanding, being relatable to patients plays a significant role in how smooth a particular treatment program will go. Physiotherapy techniques require a certain delicacy, both in terms of the actual physical manipulation of body parts and managing a patient’s state of mind. Some patients become mentally traumatized and depressed if their physical conditions carry the risk of permanent physical disability. Needless to say, handling such a traumatized patient requires striking the right balance between professional training and interpersonal skills. Convenient Working HoursMany people in today’s working world are hard-pressed for time. They may need to see a physiotherapist but may not be able to squeeze such an appointment into their busy work schedules. Therefore, ensure that the clinic you choose should have convenient working hours. Early morning and late evening sessions should be available for busy professionals with limited free time during the day. Our facility offers flexibility and convenience for such busy clientele. We understand that juggling numerous tasks within one’s schedule can be incredibly stressful. Initial assessments can quickly be followed up by another appointment should the need arise. Our clinic aims to ensure that, whether you are a stay-at-home mom or a busy professional, no one is left out. Ethical BillingPhysiotherapists should only charge for the hours they actually get to work with patients. This concept, known as billable hours in many professions, ensures the patient is not overcharged for the treatments received. There are instances of clinics that try to get the client to receive as many treatment options as possible. From such a clinic’s perspective, this maximum coverage ensures above-average profits. While such practices are uncommon, it is always advisable to do your homework before signing up for physiotherapy at any clinic to avoid this. The internet now makes it possible to access a plethora of relevant information about most businesses, including physiotherapy practices. Look out for testimonials from former patients and any hint of scandal or complaints. Multiple cases of unsatisfied patients are usually good indicators of nefarious practices by such a clinic. At Movement 101, our pricing is strictly dependent on your needs. We realize that injuries and their potential physiotherapy treatments can widely vary. After the initial assessment, our physiotherapists will know exactly how to create a plan that fully addresses your unique physical discomfort. Some physical ailments may require a few physiotherapy visits while others may take longer. We take all such relevant factors into consideration. Private Treatment RoomsThere’s a reason that confidentiality and privacy are big issues in nearly every aspect of providing healthcare. People want to know that their medical issues, including physical injuries or possible disabilities, can be kept private from most prying eyes. A physiotherapy clinic can have an “open centre” kind of arrangement, where multiple physiotherapists use a large enclosed space to see all their patients. Others do have the option of private rooms for patients that prefer more privacy. Depending on your needs, ensure that the clinic you choose has the right kind of facilities in place. Ensure that the private treatment rooms are up to your standards. Comfort is a big part of any treatment plan; it puts patients in the right frame of mind and enables a smooth treatment session. At our clinic, we endeavour to meet our potential patients’ expectations regarding the physical area where the actual physiotherapy sessions will take place.v Physiotherapist-to-Patient RatioMany physiotherapy clinics schedule multiple patient appointments within limited time slots. During such appointments, the physiotherapist only has a few minutes to carry out the physical examination necessary to begin a patient’s treatment program. Such an arrangement becomes challenging and impractical if the clinic does not have enough physiotherapists on its books. Our clinic understands the need for one-on-one physiotherapy sessions. Such an arrangement ensures personalized care whereby our patients feel better served. Ultimately, you want to sign up for a physiotherapy plan that helps you resolve your physical ailments—be they chronic pain or restoring the full use of limbs. Now that a lot of us are working from home, you may find that you are getting a sore or tight neck or upper back and shoulders. This is very common for people that spend long periods of time sitting down in one position.
Another thing to note, is your work station. Are you now using your dining table as a desk or are you sitting on the couch and using your coffee table? This will also play a role in developing neck pain and stiffness. The body has an ideal alignment for almost every joint that provides the most stability and allows for the best efficiency for movement in that position. When the spine is in it’s optimum position it allows for free movement of the nerves that supply the trunk, arms and face. The human body is highly adaptable and will of course continue to function when a posture is not “perfect” however, energy is wasted and undue stress is then placed on muscles, joints and ligaments. Over time, this can lead to pain, tightness and even stiffness affecting how much you can move your neck. Now, we don’t need to be constantly sitting up straight in these ‘optimum’ postures. It is more important to keep moving and not be in the same position for long periods. No matter how ideal a posture is, when joints are held in the same one position for long periods, this can lead to less ideal symptoms presenting. So, what should you take away from this? Working with a great base posture combined with regular movement and stretches can have a positive impact on your overall well being. So keep moving!
