Mikayla recently graduated with a Doctor of Physiotherapy from Macquarie University, following a Bachelor of Sports and Exercise Science from the University of Technology. She brings a wealth of sports-related knowledge, having nearly a decade of experience as a sprints coach with Athletics Australia. Mikayla has worked with young athletes through her local Little Athletics Club and has recently transitioned to coaching private under-18 state and national level sprinters and jumpers. Her interest in physiotherapy began when she experienced injuries herself as a national-level sprinter. These experiences sparked her interest in human anatomy and required her to problem-solve her own injuries in a competitive environment. As a result, Mikayla has developed a keen interest in running injuries and enjoys incorporating strength and conditioning, as well as Pilates principles, into her management approach for patients. Mikayla is strongly evidence-based in her practice and uses a combination of hands-on manual therapy and exercise prescription to optimize patient function. She is dedicated to helping her patients achieve their goals and reach their full functional potential. When not in the clinic, Mikayla usually spends quality time with her family and friends, enjoys outdoor long runs, or plans her next Formula 1 race to attend.
