​We love offering the evidence based Onero program at Movement 101. Run by our Exercise Physiologists and Physiotherapists we love delivering evidence informed and based programs to help our Sydney community.

What is the Onero™ Program?
Onero™ is a specialised resistance and impact training program aimed at strengthening bones, boosting muscle power, and enhancing overall physical function. It focuses on key areas like the lower back and hips, which are vital for maintaining bone health and preventing fractures. Alongside building strength, Onero™ includes targeted exercises to improve balance and stability, providing a well-rounded approach to protecting and enhancing your bone health.

The Onero™ Program is designed to be inclusive and beneficial for a wide range of individuals. If you are looking to improve your overall well-being, strengthen muscles and bones, and enhance your balance, this program might be right for you!   • People at Risk of Poor Bone Health: poor weight-bearing exercise habits, a family history of osteopenia or osteoporosis, poor diet, those with chronic arthritic diseases, smokers or long-term corticosteroid use to name a few.
  • Perimenopausal and Menopausal Women: Due to the hormonal changes that impact bone health. Individuals with Osteoporosis or Osteopenia: Improve bone density, and strength & reduce the chance of falls.
  • Weights for wellbeing: This class is a great way to learn to lift weights in a small group setting under the guidance of an allied health practitioner.

What is involved if you take part in the Onero™ Program

The Onero™ Program begins with a comprehensive 60-minute assessment conducted by a qualified Onero™-trained allied health professional, such as an Exercise Physiologist or Physiotherapist.

After your initial assessment, you will participate in 2 x 45-minute classes per week. These classes are intentionally kept small, with a maximum of up to four participants, to ensure that each session is fully supervised and personalised. Our Onero™-trained professionals closely monitor your progress, providing expert guidance and adjusting exercises as needed.

The program is designed to span a 12-month period, with a structured progression in both the intensity and complexity of exercises as your strength, balance, and confidence improve. This gradual increase helps optimise your bone health and overall physical function.

Semi-Private classes

​Semi-private ONERO classes are 45-minute sessions with a maximum of four participants, offering personalised guidance in a small group setting. You’ll receive close practitioner support while enjoying the motivation of training alongside others.

1-1 Appointments

Some clients may benefit from one-to-one ONERO sessions. These personalised sessions are recommended on an individual basis by your practitioner and tailored to your specific goals and needs.

What should I expect at my Initial assessment?
Initial assessment's are 60 minutes. This includes a medical and physical assessment, you will learn about the program and what to expect.

Wear comfortable clothes to your first appointment.

Some clients may need a 30 minute follow up consult to help shape their management program and check diagnosis and progress to ensure we help you achieve your goals.

What do I need to bring with me?
  • Comfortable exercise clothing you can move easily in
  • Supportive, closed-in shoes (e.g. runners)
  • Your referral or medical clearance, if required
  • Recent scans or reports, if you have them
  • A water bottle to stay hydrated
