Kavan completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Exercise Physiology as well as a Master of Physiotherapy, from the University of Sydney. He sought out education to delve into the complexity of pain, understand the body, optimise performance, and pursue injury risk reduction. The thing he enjoys most about the profession is being able to educate and empower his community.
Having experience in both private practice and community-based work, whilst also having help the primary physiotherapist position in regional Tasmania at an aged care/community facility, Kavan has cultivated a passion for incorporating manual techniques alongside client-centred exercise prescription into his approach to reduce injury risk and optimise function.
Having recently practiced in a sports injury centre, and a background in sport (Division1 Men’s Basketball, Touch Footie, Rugby Union, Soccer, and Athletics) Kavan’s main passion is for strength and conditioning and sports performance and his spare time he enjoys resistance training through a combination of power building, sports specific, and Olympic lifting.
