Zetland is no longer an up-and-coming suburb; it has established its status as an exciting inner-city hub. For the past several decades, Zetland has been a mostly industrial area, but in recent years has been the centre of new high-density development. With a world-class dining and shopping precinct, quick access to the airport, city, and parks, and brand-new developments, Zetland is one of the most well-connected areas in all of Sydney. Overall, the suburb is still a quiet place to live.
Zetland is bordered on the south by Rosebery, on the east by Kensington, on the west by Alexandria and Beaconsfield, and north by Waterloo. The population growth and influx of new residents to Zetland have brought with it a couple of new businesses as well. There is a couple of trendy new restaurants and cafes.
Zetland is also quite a lot greener, given that the suburb is a relatively urban area. The suburb has several amazing parks that show some aesthetic landscaping, and while its high-rise buildings are tall, Zetland’s planners space them enough for sunlight to shine through. While Zetland itself doesn’t have a lot going on in the evening, its proximity to Newtown, Erskineville, Paddington, and Redfern helps offset this somewhat.
